Home – Stephanie Mills | Photo Collage Animation

This video was commissioned by JaSheika James, and includes photos of her friends and family. While searching for the meaning of home, JaSheika James realized that her home was defined by the people she holds dear. Throughout the video you can see her thoughts on home written on the photo frames. The song Home by Stephanie Mills forms the backbone of this video, as it exemplifies everything that home is and can be.

The photo frames were created in Photoshop, and if you look closely you can see that each one has individual crease lines and custom distressing (maybe went a little overboard, but it’s all about the details).

A Place Called Home | Stock Footage Short Film

I was recently commissioned by JaNeika James to make this video about home. In the video you can hear JaNeika James speak about what home means for her. In these uncertain times, it is so important to find your home within the chaos. To make this video I took JaNeika James’ recorded voice, and edited together some stock footage and music on top of it. I hope this video will inspire you to think about what home means to you.

Sen. Bernie Sanders and Phillip Agnew

I was commissioned to make these videos by Walid Azami shortly after Sen. Bernie Sanders’ LA Rally. Sanders has since dropped out of the presidential race, but his message lives on! Sanders has been fighting for civil rights since the 1960’s, and continues to be a beacon of progress in the Senate and beyond.

Phillip Agnew was Sanders’ senior campaign advisor during the 2020 presidential race. Agnew, like Sanders, has an unwavering drive to advance civil rights in this country. He is a national activist know for creating the Student Coalition for Justice, and later co-founding and directing the Dream Defenders Organization. Agnew is an inspiration, and his speech highlights the goals we should all be fighting for in the voting booth.

I hope these videos inspire an increased fervor in political activism, and remind people to vote for progress. The law doesn’t change until society makes it. Let your voice be heard!

Huge thank you to Walid Azami for commissioning and directing these videos, and providing the stunning photographs used throughout! You can find a link to his website below.

Mother Ginger

In December of last year, I had the privilege of performing with the American Swiss Ballet Company in their production of The Nutcracker. I have been in a few productions of The Nutcracker over the years, but this was my first time playing a woman on stilts!

Thank you Gary Vorwald for the photo! You can see the rest of the photos here: https://gvphotos.smugmug.com/AS-Ballet/Nutcracker-Performance-Dec-2019/Mother-Ginger-Tommy-Batchelor/i-QrKqx2k
